Different Yoga Styles
  1. Hatha Yoga is an umbrella term for all physical postures of yoga and refers to all the other styles of yoga (Ashtanga, Iyenga, etc.) that are grounded in physical practice. This physical-based yoga is the most popular introduction to yoga wellness.
  2. Vinyasa Yoga is often considered the most athletic yoga style, where your movements are coordinated with your breath to move from one pose to another. Its wellness goals often include building lean muscle mass.
  3. Kundalini Yoga seek to bring out your physical and spiritual wellbeing. Classes intensely work your core and breathing with fast-moving, invigorating postures and breath exercises.
  4. Pre/Post Natal Yoga is carefully adapted to suit women in all trimesters. Your specialist trained practitioner will use props to ensure stability while doing pelvic floor work and focus breathing.

No matter what kind of Pilates class you find yourself in, the workouts all rely on the core principles of breathing, control, centering and flow. The differences lie primarily in the different ways to perform Pilates, such as on a mat or using a reformer machine. Our practitioners will help you find the right style and level for you.

Different Pilates Styles
  1. Classical/Mat incorporates both mat and apparatus work. It focuses on more of a posterior pelvic tilt (hips tilt towards your back), as well as a few other postural preferences at the head, neck and shoulders.
  2. Winsor Pilates focus on weight loss and shaping the body with a combination of classical Pilates exercises done in a specific, non-traditional order to maximise results. It consists of 13 Pilates mat movements in 20-minute workouts, making it ideal for beginners and those short on time.

Mindfulness can be done while waiting in a queue, talking to your partner or walking down the street. Your Mindfulness experience with our practitioners will involve certain common mindfulness meditations such as, Body Scan and Movement meditation.

Different Mindfulness approaches
  1. Body Scan/Movement meditation involves lying down, followed by yoga t’ai chi, qi gong. The meditation involves becoming aware of your bodily sensations in a mindful way, step by step. You will watch and let go of whatever thoughts and emotions arise as you practice.
  2. Breathing Space/Expanding Awareness involves sitting and can be a short, roughly three minute, meditation. The idea is to create a mindful awareness of your experience, instead of avoiding it. The meditation focuses, in this order, on your breath, body, sounds, thoughts and feelings.
  3. Mountain/Lake is a visualisation meditation that help cultivate stability and grounding, helping you to explore the beauty of accepting and allowing experiences to be just as they are.
